Since childhood, my family and I have owned a variety of pet's, including; Rabbits, hare's, gerble's, guinipigs, cat's, fish, birds, mice, chinchilla's, horses and dog's of heinz 57 variety! My parents bought me my first pedigree in the eighties, a black Toy Poodle dog who I named Kelly. My sister, Julie of the 'Atizan' kennel club affix, use to be the 'Vice Chair person' of the first Parsons Jack Russell Society, she sold a beautiful Red & white dog, who become the first ever Jack Russell who won Best of Breed at Crufts. Julie use to show and breed; long haired & short coated chihuahuas, b & w Jack Russell's, apricot, silver, white & black Toy Poodle's, and our first black & tan dobermann. It was then that I got bitten by the show bug, I was introduced to Derek Allsopp when I first competed at the Alfreton & District Open show. Derek became my mentor and is now an International Show veteran and Cruft's Steward.
My partner grew up withToy Poodles, so we both decided to research into a larger breed as a complete change. After joining a few dobermann breed club's, visiting breed shows before making any decision's to buy, only after then we got our first dobermann via the Dobermann rescue society from Reading, in 1989. 'Dobbin', our new podgy framed family member got regular exercise, lots of T.L.C, and became a shining thoroughbred of an outline of what a dobermann should look like. And of course we renamed him as our little 'Diablo', having the amazing devel couldnt care less attitude, chasing hot air balloons, playing with children and swimming in our local park lake. Although he had no Kennel Club registration papers, he enjoyed being entered into local exemption shows for fun and we were absolutley smitten by this fabulous breed. I then started to steward at our local open shows to get a bigger picture of what a show dog should actually look like and what was winning....
Our first brown & rust show dog; 'Draq's Revel Rebel at Doberlane' pet name Harle,y was purchased from Joy Johnston of 'Draqs' Kennels. Unfortunately Harley's Junior debut in the ring at Windsor Champ show was short lived because he got savaged by an unleashed dog called 'Tabon Tabon Super Highway'. Being so badly traumatised he had to retire from showing. He later sired some lovely natured puppies with the "Sardoba" breed lines. To further my knowledge about the breed and conformation, I attended all the breed seminars and passed Kennel Club certifications, I then became one of the breed specialist judge.
For my birthday, my partner bought me my first show girl, a lovely black & rust, absolute gem of a puppy, who I aptly named Jade. She was an absolute stunning representation of the breed, a second to none quality that was bred by Linda Purser of the 'Estridge' Kennels with Yvonne Beavons Champion Stud 'Khaneve Judgement day', who goes back to the top winning Dobermann breed record holder in the UK, called "Champion Sallate Ferrris". I am honoured and feel priveliged to have owned a beautiful top winning Champion, who has always been compared by judges, as 'an excellent true to breed standard of what a typical dobermann should look like'. My beloved veteren lady is the true foundation of 'Doberlane', home to my dobermann breed line which has been passed down from outstanding pedigree lines.
Jade has produced some stunning UK and Irish Champion breed lines with sound temperaments, that include top Kennel names:
"Chaanrose", "Jaegerson", "Supeta", "Heimdall", "Siboveld", "Samenco", all producing beautiful winning puppies in the ring and who make lovely pets. Further Champion progeny lines can also be found within the "Samenco" Kennel in Southern Ireland, owned by Samantha Walsh. Sam is still winning Veteran classes with Jade's home bred daughter, called Maddie, "Irish Champion, Doberlane Glory Seka (JW)", who was put to Jade's last litter son, "Irish Champion Doberlane Strider von Samenco" to produce 'Samenco Majic Moment', who is pictured below winning her first Green Star with Sam. 'Samenco Majic Moment' to "Champion Doberlane Strider von Samenco" has now given me their beautiful daughter 'Samenco Mysterious Lady' aka Seka, in hope to follow into her winning grandmother and Grandfathers' footsteps.
Strider also sired the beautiful Irish Champion 'Tuwos Emily', aka Kerry, owned by Jean Clarke and handled by Josh Henderson. She has won The Northern Ireland 'Pup of the Year' and Working and Pastoral 'Puppy of the Year' showed in February 2008. Also becoming a 'Petplan Junior Stakes' qualifier, is the youngest ever Dobermann Challenge Certificate winner In Ireland, having: 2 B.I.S, 1 R.B.I.S, 3 B.P.I.S, 2 B.P.I.B, 5 Green Stars, 5 B.O.B, 5 Res. Green Stars. Strider also sired the beautiful Irish Champion 'Fitskin Cruel Intentions' and Irish Champion 'Spetori Celtic Spellbinder'...
Well done to everyone involved, keep up the good work, so who is going to be the next star of the dobermann future??????
